Car theft does not have to be associated with hooligans and breaking down car doors. Today thieves operate in white gloves. As it turns out, they are increasingly effective in this, and most often hunt for people with a positive credit history.
Recently there have appeared brokers who hunt for clients of leasing companies. Most often they choose well-situated victims with positive credit history. They encourage them to enter a profitable business with passive income. The victim is supposed to lease a car but at the same time sublease it to the fraudster mainly for the French market. At first there is no indication that this is a scam. Only after a while does it become apparent that the car has been damaged or is being used for insurance fraud or drug smuggling. Criminals prefer Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche models.
